What is Ketotifen Fumarate (Clear) MCC?

Ketotifen is a noncompetitive H1‑receptor antagonist and mast cell stabilizer that works by reducing inflammatory and allergic activity, including interference with eosinophil migration and suppression of mast‑cell–derived mediators. It is known for its low toxicity profile and is often used in individuals with complex, multisystem sensitivity conditions, where stabilizing mast cells is essential for reducing reactivity.

As a first‑generation antihistamine, ketotifen has demonstrated benefits in conditions involving urticaria, pruritus, and mastocytosis. It is commonly introduced at low doses due to its sedating effects. In terms of mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), compounded ketotifen oral capsules typically serve as a mast cell stabilizer and gradually reduce the reactivity of mast cells. Ketotifen may also prevent the release of additional chemical mediators beyond histamine.
