What is Finasteride / Minoxidil?

Finasteride and minoxidil are often used together to address androgenic alopecia by targeting both hormonal and vascular factors that contribute to hair loss. Finasteride works by competitively inhibiting the type II 5‑alpha reductase enzyme, blocking the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a potent androgen that drives follicle miniaturization and thinning. Lowering DHT levels in the scalp and serum is thought to help maintain healthier follicle structure.

Minoxidil acts as a vasodilator, increasing blood flow to the scalp and stimulating resting follicles to enter an active growth phase. In both men and women, this combination supports hair density and may provide greater benefits than either agent used alone.
