What is Biotin / Finasteride?

Finasteride works as a competitive inhibitor of the type II 5‑alpha reductase enzyme, preventing the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a potent androgen linked to hair thinning in androgenic alopecia. By lowering DHT levels in both the serum and scalp, it helps reduce the hormonal influence that contributes to progressive hair loss.  Finasteride should not be consumed or handled by women who are pregnant or of childbearing age, as exposure may cause birth defects in a developing fetus.

Biotin, an essential B vitamin, supports metabolic processes involving fatty acids, glucose, and amino acids, and plays a key role in cell signaling, gene regulation, and keratin production. Adequate biotin levels are thought to be important for healthy hair, skin, and nails, while low levels are commonly associated with hair thinning, brittle nails, and certain neurological symptoms.
